Welcome to Paul’s Podcast Diary for Saturday 21st September, 2019.

Coming up this week:

  • Rapid release book 2 has been let out into the world … Dead of Night is now available as a version 2 book
  • I’ve just had 5 days of BookBub – I’ll let you know how my FOURTH promotion on Don’t Tell Meg has panned out
  • Circle of Lies is over the half-way mark already … it’ll soon be time to plan my 8th new book of 2019!

This diary charts my self-publishing journey – the ups the downs, the successes and the failures.

Everything goes into this diary, week-by-week, but you’ll also find it a source of great tips, resources, tools, podcast recommendations and so on.

Hi Paul,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the awesome tech toolkit podcast. I thorough enjoyed it – you spoke our language! I was especially interested in your WordPress security and Avast recommendations. We currently use iThemes security on our WordPress site, which successful stops anywhere from 10-100 bots per day trying to hack our site. Given we earn significant revenue from our website, security is a big deal for us. We also use Zoom for meetings. Once we discovered Zoom, we ditched Skype and Google Hangouts for good. Have bookmarked your page for future reference, and here’s my listener shot for this podcast (attached).
On another note, we’ve started created POD activity books via KDP.  To date we’ve uploaded 12 books with 60+ to go. In a funny sort of way, we’ve ended up doing our own rapid release with 2-3 new paperback activity books going live on Amazon each month. https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B07VRDXBGV  Customers have asked for printed books, plus it’s about spreading risk across multiple platforms, just as you discuss on your podcast. We’re very impressed with Amazon’s POD quality of these 8.5 x 11’ books. Have attached two pics for you.
Enjoying your PPD rapid release updates. Quite fascinating – am cheering you on from Canada!
